Day Ninety-Three

So you know how I wrote about going on a bike ride yesterday with Balin?  Well, I was talking to Jeremy on the phone that night & told him his bike was waaaaaay too high for me.  Every time I had to stop I had to land to the side on my tippy toes because the cross bar was too high.  Not so comfortable.

Well, ever since we got married I would make comments about wanting a bike - I really enjoy them!  But, it wasn't practical in the apartment because where would we have put it?  So after our conversation yesterday Jeremy agreed that we would get me one sometime soon since we now have a nice neighborhood to bike in & can go to Alderman's Ford Park to ride the trails together.

I got this text today from Jeremy: "I got you something today.  You have 5 guesses or you can just wait to find out when you get home."  WHAT??!?!  That was exciting!!  I love surprises & didn't really want him to tell me (even though I did guess it & he pretended to not hear me) :)  So when I got home a nice shiny bike was in the driveway!  Woo hoo!  I don't think I've had a new bike since I was 12 (right mama?).

I'm not a fan of the speed bikes because they are so uncomfortable, so he got me one of the cruiser bikes & it even has a basket on front.  It is yellow & deep purple (it looks black here, though).   So cute & I know it will last me a long time!  We put sweet potatoes in the oven, rode to the lake to feed the ducks some old bread, & then rode to Land & Sea & picked up a steak to split....I got to carry the steak in my basket!  :)  I can see many a summer evening bike rides in the future!
