Going through mama's photo boxes has proved to be hilarious!
And I've only gone through a quarter of a box!

Day One Hundred Forty Nine
Happy Memorial Day!
This morning was the usual breakfast at the Oliver's to celebrate the day & despite the few little rain showers we had, it was great!
Kassidy being brave & jumping into the pond!
Kennedy's first time jumping!
And of course big sister Carley had to go as well!
Such a relaxing morning visiting. Do we really have to go back to work tomorrow?

Day One Hundred Forty Eight
You know those places that are in the town you grew up in & you really don't remember them not being there? Or you can't imagine them not being there? Well Babe's Pizza is one of those places for me. Corner of Kings & 60 and if it were to ever leave that area just wouldn't be the same again. Such good food & great service....even if their baby mascot is a little creepy.
Speaking of babies....
She's almost 5 months!

Day One Hundred Forty Seven
Today was a fantastic day! We went tubing down the rainbow river with Korey, Tim & his 3 boys. Man was that river packed! That's what we get for going on Memorial Day weekend.
If I had a waterproof camera I totally would have taken it because there were some hilarious moments that could have been captured. River grass plastered to the boys faces, tube surfing, double tubing....you know - boy stuff. I'm glad that all the boys are comfortable around me & have accepted me as their aunt even though most of them were a little older when I officially became Aunt Amber. We have good times together! :)
After tubing we ate at the Blue Gator & Owen was begging to eat alligator...he thought it was the coolest thing that they actually served real alligator. Better dead & on my plate than floatin' in the water, I say. So Jeremy & I ordered gator bites as an appetizer so all the boys could have a taste.
Tastes like chicken! A little tough to bite into, but he liked it!
So wish I had more photos but this was the only time I could have got any. Maybe next time I'll invest in a waterproof camera & capture the boys rowdiness.

Day One Hundred Forty Six
Tonight we went on a date to a drive-in movie....our first one together! Such a cool place & it totally makes for a cheap date. ($4 a person? Ok!) The place recently upgraded their screens to digital which makes for a much nice picture, but the rest of place still looks like it did when they opened in the 1950's!
The movies they show are all new movies and they only have 2 screens. But that means that when your first movie is over you can turn around & watch the second movie without having to pay the $4 again. TWO movies for $4?! Absolutely!
When you pay at the entrance they give you a 2 dollar bill back. Kinda cool :)
We had a great time watching from the comfort of the truck & being able to talk back & forth without bothering anyone else. Jeremy said next time we'll blow up the air mattress & stick in the bed of the truck so we can lay down & chill out. He's a classy kind of guy :)
I always wanted to go to a drive-in when I was younger because it made me think of the movie Grease...and I always wished I was living back then & going to drive-ins with my friends.
We'll definitely be going back! Hopefully we can take some friends along next time!

Day One Hundred Forty Five
Tonight I hosted Bunko for the first time at our house. It was a blast! A little warm out on the porch but it wasn't too bad.
We put up new outdoor lights (on half the porch) because the original ones made it look like you were in a fish tank. These are much nicer on the eyes!

Day One Hundred Forty Four
Zack turned 13 today! I cannot believe he is a teenager. A teenager that is already way taller than me.
We went to Tim & Steph's tonight to celebrate & had a blast with everyone. In this photo Zack is laughing at our card which had something to do with peeing in your pants :)
Happy Birthday, Zack!

Day One Hundred Forty Three
Today on my lunch break I had to run to the grocery store to stock up on my lunch supplies that I keep at work (Oh yes....I have a food drawer). On my way to the store I called Jeremy to see what he wanted for dinner so I could just get what we needed then, rather than making 2 trips. So I have my list & did a quick trip.
In the middle of the afternoon I get a text from Jeremy that says, "Oh, we don't have any chicken & I didn't tell you to pick it up. Sorry." So my response back was, "Then you can go get some thankyouverymuch!"
Now, before you think I was being rude let me tell you that I hate going to the grocery store after work. Hate. It. Everyone & their mom is there & I just want to go home & take off my heels without standing in a forever long line behind a lady with 30 coupons, half of which are expired & she gets mad. I never got a response back from Jeremy so on my way home I called & asked if he ran to the store so I didn't have to stop again (because I hate to, remember?) And he says no.
Grrreeeeaaaaat. Guess who has to make two grocery store trips? This gal.
I was grumpy. So I sulked into the store, grabbed some stupid chicken & bought me a Coastal Living magazine because I never buy magazines & I just wanted to. After my grumpy self got home I started some laundry while Jeremy started to cook.....and he comes walking into our bedroom with a smile on his face & says, "I thought you were supposed to get cilantro?"
"I did get cilantro. It was sitting under the sign that said 'cilantro'." (Said in a voice that was like "Duuuuuhhhh! I know how to shooooooop!")
"That's funny," he says, still with a smile, "because it's parsley."
Stunned silence because I realized someone was gonna have to go to the store.....again.
"I DON'T EVEN LIKE CILANTRO!! I JUST GRABBED THE GREEN STUFF & SHOVED IT IN A STUPID BAG!!!!" And by this time I was starting to laugh.
So, my sweet husband said he would run to the store so he would be sure we got cilantro & not parsley again. When he got back from the store I was cooking with my back turned to the door & I hear him come up behind me.....and he reaches around....... and shoves a bunch of cilantro in my face. Just kidding!! He put some lovely purple flowers in front of me!
Awwwwwww.
"Sorry I made you grumpy." He says. And we both laughed.
That'll teach him to not make me go to the store twice in one day :)

Day One Hundred Forty Two
So I didn't post here at all last week & at first I was feeling really bad about it.....but then I realized that I didn't get on the computer once last week after I got home from work & I liked it! More time devoted to doing other things & spending time with people. But I was still taking photos!
In other news.....I ate my first cherry tomato from my plant! Woo hoo! More to be picked soon.

Day One Hundred Forty
Today was a sad day. I had to say goodbye to my sister & her family :(
I had a good time taking care of this little stinker, though! His random, "Amber? I love you." statements make me smile & cry at the same time. Can't wait until July when we get to see them again & hopefully Lainey will be all healed!

Day One Hundred Thirty Nine
Today was a great day! I went to the hospital to spend half the day with Erin & Lainey and much to our surprise the doctor came in & realeased Lainey from the hospital! Knowing that Lainey's eyes were both swollen shut before I got up there, I was really sad to see her....but about 2 hours after I was there her left eye opened up. Oh, what a great thing to experience! She was so happy she got to see her mama & not just hear her voice!
A little later the doctor came, took out her drainage tube from her head & then said, "So what do you think about going home?" To which Erin replied, "We would love to.....wait, do you mean today?!" The doctor was so nice & signed the papers immediately! Lainey was so so happy to be home & see her brother & play with her toys! We are so happy she is doing so well & we pray she does better & better each & every day!

Day One Hundred Thirty Eight
So I just realized I counted day 117 twice, so I've been a day behind ever since. Whoops :) So day 137 doesn't exist....I just skipped to 138!
Today I got to see little LaineyBug for the first time after her surgery. I can't tell you how relieved I was to see her in such a good mood! The thought of her being swollen & her head being cut was making me really nervous to see her....but when I walked into her area of the ICU & she smiled at me it made me so incredibly happy. Sweet girl even gave me kisses when I leaned over! In spite of having stitches, swollen eyes, a drain in her head & iv's in her, she is being so sweet. I would be grumpy if I had a drain in my head, but that little bug doesn't mind as long as she gets to see mommy & daddy!
In order to maintain privacy I am only posting a photo of her "e.t. toe". Every so often it will catch her eye & she'll stare at it. Keep praying for a speedy recovery, please!

Day One Hundred Thirty Six
This morning I got to take Logan to his last day of school. I don't think he understood that it was his last day, but he was excited that I got to take him :)
A tradition in our family is eating homemade chocolate chip cookies on the first & last day of school. Since Erin was just a little preoccupied today, Logan & I made cookies when he got home from school!
He wanted to to "do it all by myself" when it came to the mixer....but I didn't want to clean cookie batter off the cabinets/ceiling/window/walls/floor today :)
Logan helped the entire time! I was surprised he stayed focused through the whole process. Probably because he knew he got a reward at the end. Oh, and those are chocolate chunks....not chips. Chocolate chips are for babies! We like the chunks around here!
A pre-bedtime ritual for Logan is to watch one Transformer episode. I was laying on the pull-out bed & thought this was just too cute.
Lainey's surgery went so very well today & we are so thankful! The doctor's are very pleased with the way everything turned out so now it's time for the healing process. Hopefully it will be a quick one - kids are resilient so I hope Lainey is a fast healer!
Prayers are still needed for her!

Day One Hundred Thirty Five
We made it to Alabama Tuesday afternoon & got to spend time with little miss LaineyBug before her big surgery. She was sweet, smiley & playful Tuesday evening so we had fun playtime with her!
We went to O'Charley's for dinner & right when daddy started to say the prayer Lainey swiped a french fry off of Erin's plate. She had never had a fry before but she was determined to get one! I looked up at her during the prayer & she was staring up at Erin with a half smirk on her face & then stuffed the fry in! Little girl loves her food!
When we got home, Lainey "helped" me & Mimi fold the laundry :)
Big girl is starting to pull up!
I promise she was in a happy mood this night. Everytime I put the camera up she would just give such a serious stare & go "Huh" and then turn away. Little stinker didn't want to smile for me!
Sweet baby girl will be all fixed tomorrow & hopefully no more surgeries! We love you little Lainey!

Days One Hundred Thirty Three & Four
Sunday & Monday I didn't take a single photo. Shame on me!
Mother's Day was good - went to church & then to the park with Mandi, Eric (& kids) & Nick, Mel (& kids). It was a fun afternoon! Then I went home after evening church & finished laundry & went to BED. I was worn out.
Monday was work & then back home to pack & get some rest because I had to be up at 3:15 for our trip to Alabama!
See, not much was missed those last 2 days :) I making up for the lost photos now that I'm here in Alabama!

Day One Hundred Thirty Two
On the short 45 minute flight from Kelowna to Seattle I thought I could finish the current book I was reading so I could start a new book on the long flight to Atlanta.
Well, one look out the window & I didn't crack my book open. Just look at those mountains!

Day One Hundred Thirty One
Our last evening in Kelowna we decided we would go to a nicer dinner since we had heard so much about the great vineyards & winery's around town. After work we went back to the hotel & changed (that was a big deal because we always go in our Ashley work clothes because we're so tired!) & made our way to Quail's Gate. The owner of the Ashley store we were working at was nice enough to book a reservation for us & leave us time to get cleaned up.
But first.....here is the car we got to drive for a week. A brand new Volvo! It was a blast to drive it through the mountains!
Parking at Quail's Gate Vineyard.
The view from our table. The vineyards were just starting to grow. I would love to see them all full with grapes!
I would definitly go back & try some of the hiking around the area & see what else they have. It was such a beautiful place.
Glad to be home, though!

Day One Hundred Thirty
Views from dinner one night at a really nice place called "Earl's On Top". It was on the second floor of corner of a building right downtown. Great views & great food!
While sitting down at breakfast in the hotel one morning I looked up & noticed the man at the table next to us had a very unusual way of carrying his smokes. Then, upon further inspection, I noticed a baggie with something else in it sitting on top of the cigarettes. Hmmm....interesting.

Day One Hundred Twenty Nine
We ate lunch one day at a deli named Pearson's, which happens to be Jeremy's middle name! It was delicious, too.
Mountains around our hotel. Not the prettiest picture, but it was a lovely sight in person!

Our first night in Kelowna we went downtown by the lake & looked for somewhere to eat. Such a cute downtown! It was beautiful!

The mountains that surrounded the entire city. Kelowna has unusual weather for Canada since they are located in a valley. They are considered the "desert" of Canada....although it's not the desert we are used to. They have quite a few vineyards and a very hot summer with only 2 months of a hard winter. Crazy for Canada because they rest of them have the majority of the year in winter!
Beautiful, beautiful place! I would love to go back and do some hiking and stay in one of the many cute bed & breakfasts there!
Day One Hundred Twenty Seven
Bright and early Monday morning I was on my way to Canada! This photo is of the foothills of the Rockies as we were on our final approach to Kelowna, BC.
The view made the ride a little better since we were just in a little 2 propeller plane....shudder.
