Day One Hundred Twenty

Saturday I finished a burlap wreath for our front door.  I'm not a huge fan of super flowery wreaths (well, I like some of them but I couldn't find any I really liked) so I decided to make one.

I think I may add a few more things to it, but I think it's coming along nicely.

Day One Hundred Nineteen

This evening we had our very first group meeting at our house & it was a good turnout, if I do say so myself.

I had been wanting to do this project for a while & I finally gave myself the deadline of the group meeting to get it done.  I ordered the letters for our last name & then I had to find the perfect piece of old wood to display them on.....so I asked my dad!  Not because he's old, though.....

But because he like antique things that mean something to him just like I do.

So I stopped by on Saturday to pick up tables for the group meeting & daddy took me down to Nanny & Papa's to look in their shed.  Low & behold, leaning in the corner was an old piece of worn wood that held up Nanny's old clothes line.

Perfect.  I like the rustic look with the clean, black lines of the photo frames.  Since these photos were taken from rustic things, I think they should be displayed on something rustic.  Daddy helped me piece them together but cutting 2 smaller pieces & nailing them to the back.  Not a long project at all!

And this is how it is saying straight on the wall...

That's velcro you see back there folks.  I installed picture wire on the wood but when I hung it up it leaned forward......so, naturally, I found some velcro & put it to good use  :)  That's how us fancy schmancy designers work!  Ha!  And the photos are staying on the wood with velcro, too.  I'm telling you - industrial strength velcro can fix anything (just like duct tape!)

I love it.  It is unique & has more than one meaning behind it....not just the letters that spell out our family name, but using a piece of family history to display it.  Thanks for your help, daddy!

And I also scored an old fence post with barbed wire still on it from when my great-grandfather fenced in his property.  Thanks Uncle Ed for that unique piece, too!

All in a good days work!

Day One Hundred Eighteen

Happy Birthday to Nick!

Saturday night we celebrated Nick's 34th.....I mean 29th.....birthday!  Of course, Mel had to play a trick on him by giving him trick candles (I think she's just jealous because he's younger than her)  :)

I also took some photos of Mandi showing her little baby belly!

Or, as mama just loooooves....her baby bump  :)

Oh, and I took a photo of these 2 cute little girls!

I think I got my allotment in for the day!

Day One Hundred Seventeen

Daily Bible reading today:  Deuteronomy 31.

Moses can't go into the promised land so he passes the torch of leadership to Joshua.  This chapter always makes me sad.

Days One Hundred Thirteen, Fourteen & Fifteen

So, Sunday after morning services I helped Josh & Brandi move...and after evening services I came home, ate, folded laundry & went to bed because I was so worn out from my weekend!  I didn't even take a photo Sunday!  For shame!

But I have plenty to make up for it.  Monday morning I was off bright & early to catch the company jet & go to High Point, NC for the day to walk around market.  It was a good, productive day getting to walk around to all the high-end showrooms & get my creative juices flowing.

The best part?  I didn't have to sit on the toilet seat on the way home  :)

On my way to the St. Pete/Clearwater airport bright & early

View from my seat.  It is a 10-seater plane & I got to watch the pilots land.  I've always wondered how they did it!  Turns out they don't look out the front window much.  Huh.  Those 2 ladies are Korrie (left) & Angie & the first 4 seats recline.  Fancy!  The tv behind Korrie constantly shows what city the plan is passing over, elevation, ground speed, temperature, etc.  Pretty cool, actually!

This is on the way home and it is taken from the toilet seat  :)  JD had to lean out to take it, but this is basically how big the plane is.  Next to me is the other Amber (and that is her Coors Light in between us & not mine thankyouverymuch), Dina is the one laughing at us, Darren is in the right corner, & Siobahn's shirt is in the bottom left corner.  How smart is it that the owner of the company has alcohol on his plan for when we fly back home?  I mean, it's not like we have to DRIVE back to our houses right?  Liquor us up & put us in our cars!

Views coming in to land in St. Pete

I NEVER thought I'd say this since I get nervous on small planes.....but I would much rather fly this than a commercial flight any day.  Such smooth flying, only had to get to the airport 10 minutes before we left & no security.  Aahhh, that's the life....for one day!

You know, I didn't realize just HOW MUCH water is in the state of Florida (yes, I know a lot of those are shadows from the clouds).  But every time I fly I look out on Florida & see just how much of our state is covered in water.  Kinda scary!  If if floods, where do we go?!

I took this one because we were completely on our side looking straight down :)

Today's photos: Taco night!  I love me a good homemade taco!

Jeremy eats his with lots of cilantro instead of lettuce.  He can have it!

Day One Hundred Twelve

Before, during & after of our little entry space that has sat empty since we moved in.  I'm so glad it is started & there is no more ugly, dried red mulch sitting there!

We also trimmed the bushes back & re-mulched the bed by the front window.  Hopefully in the next few weekends we can plant my new rose bushes.

Slowly, but surely.....slowly, but surely.

Day One Hundred Eleven

Just a little preview of what we'll be doing tomorrow.  Although, garage lighting isn't the greatest for photos, you get the idea.

I'm excited!

Day One Hundred Eight

We finally put up curtains in our bedroom tonight.

Jeremy is excited because now if he's had a bad night at the station he can come home sleep in a dark room.

I'm excited because it looks pretty.

Day One Hundred Seven

We got a new sprayer for our hose.

Doesn't it look oh-so-similar to a fire nozzle?  I wonder who could have picked this out?  :)

Days Ninety-Nine to One-Oh-Six

Playing catch up here now that I'm back from Canada, eh!

So, eight photos to post & they aren't all taken on the right days, but they are here!  :)

This is the from the amaryllis bulb I planted when I was in kindergarten...still going strong at Mama & Daddy's house!

East Side Mario's was a place we just HAD to go for lunch one day.  I mean, look at the name?  "An American Italian Eatery"?  Who could pass something like this up in Canada?!  It was actually very good!  (That's Sammie on the right & Ashley on the left. They were great to travel with!)

One of our favorite restaurants was called Milestones & we actually went twice - once in Cambridge & on our last night in Toronto.  It is named Milestones because there is food for every milestone in your life - such as a breakup!  All three of us got "The Breakup Tub" for dessert  :)  Cookie dough ice cream with chocolate cookie & restaurant-made caramel.  YUM!!  This was the only night we got dessert & it was worth it!

Canadian sunset out my hotel window

We went to this restaurant for lunch one day just because of the name....and it was totally different than what we expected!  Kind of fancy for a name like "Beaver & Bulldog", but still good!

These signs were everywhere in Cambridge!!  I wish I would have taken a photo looking straight down the main road because these are back to back lining the road.  Every business had a normal, professional sign...and then these neon ones by the road.  All the same colors, too:  green, yellow, white & orange.  Someone is making a killing off these signs!  (Btw, Tim Horton's that you see on this sign is an amazing donut place!)

The reason we took off 35 minutes late from the Toronto airport.  There are even more that you can't see in the photo just lining up waiting to take off.

All I could think about after we broke through the clouds was: "Oh Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, consider all the worlds Thy hands have made!  I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed!  Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee: How Great Thou Art!  How Great Thou Art!"

It was soooooooo good to see Johnny & visit with him!  We are missing Scott, Anne & Erin  :(

Ok, so there are 9 photos so please forgive me  :)
